Steven E. Johnson, PhD

Dr. Johnson currently holds dual appointments as the Chief Executive Officer at Durametrix and Research Scientist at the Feinberg School of Medicine. He has worked in industry in pharma research and development, co-founded and led several startups, and worked in the discovery sector of Sigma-Aldrich before receiving his PhD from Northwestern University. Scientifically, Dr. Johnson has expertise in chemical biology, drug discovery, systems biology, quantitative molecular imaging, and has experience in developing and translating advanced diagnostic approaches based on membrane biology and understanding tissue damage in various pathhophysiological conditions. Dr. Johnson has a substantial track record in relevant fields of studies with high-profile peer-reviewed publications and as a Principal Investigator in federal funding. Drawing from his background, Dr. Johnson is unequally positioned to drive the commercialization of promising products and technologies for serving a wider industrial and academic community.
